The Historic I.L. Smith House has been a mainstay in Forest Grove for almost 150 years. We love where we live, and the surrounding area offers a wide array of activities and some of the best dining in the region. The following businesses have been happily frequented by our family and we hope you enjoy them as well.

RESTAURANTS

Cuvee-2-300x200.jpg

Located in beautiful downtown Carlton, which is located 25 minutes from Forest Grove. Gilbert Henry, born is Alsace, France, is both a master of French cuisine and an affable host. Cuvée features an interesting rotational prix fixe menu and an expansive wine list. We have never had anything less than a fantastic experience in our many visits and Chef Henry's dry sense of humor is always a highlight of any visit.

Urban Decanter.jpg

A cornerstone of downtown Forest Grove, Urban Decanter is an upscale casual restaurant with an industrial design and extensive wine selection. The menu changes with the season and features both small and large plates which with locally sourced ingredients from the Willamette Valley. Jill and Jenny make Urban Decanter a welcoming spot for a date night or large gathering.

Biites.jpg

Located in downtown Forest Grove, Suidha, Ritika, and their staff at Bites make every visit feel special. Featuring Asian fusion cuisine and a wide variety of specialty burgers, Bites is a hot-spot for locals and for those wrapping up wine tasting tours in the region. The crab cakes and Cacio al Pepé are both favorites in our family and for those that enjoy a cocktail, summer in the grove is not to be missed.

Wineries and Cideries

3 Goats.png

3 Goats is a new and welcome addition to downtown Forest Grove. Candace and Chris are so welcoming to anyone visiting the tasting room. Tasting flights are well priced and give a full impression of local varietals. The 2022 Syrah and Tempranillo are personal favorites.

19 acres.jfif

We often spend Sunday afternoons at 19 acres enjoying a flight of ciders, charcuterie board, and hot pretzels with beer cheese while playing board games as a family. Located in nearby Sherwood, 19 acres is one of the most beautiful tasting rooms I have ever seen, and the staff is always so accommodating. The grounds are gorgeous and the ciders are delicious. Check out their membership which is an excellent value.

la-biblioteca-home-hero-winery.jpg

If you are a bibliophile like me, then this is the tasting room for you. Situated in Carlton, La Biblioteca is a unique blend of library and winery. Comfortable seats, warm interior, and tasty wines combine for an excellent atmosphere to lounge and unwind. Whether you prefer red or white, you can't go wrong with the offerings here with every wine being approachable and smooth.
